Cassava litter: questions behind a fine-granule format
Look beyond the material name and compare composition direction, particle distribution, moisture stability and scoop performance.
BEGIN WITH THE WRITTEN PRODUCT DIRECTION
Cassava litter can be formulated in different ways. Ask for the commercial material direction, product code and approved sample instead of assuming that every cassava-branded litter has the same composition.
CHECK THE GRANULE DISTRIBUTION
Fine particles can give a sand-like paw feel, but particle distribution also affects tracking, dust and clump structure. Compare the unopened bag, the surface layer and material from the bottom of the bag.
TEST CLUMPING AS A SYSTEM
Record liquid volume, waiting time, clump weight, lifting strength, bottom adhesion and residue after scooping. A fast surface reaction does not by itself confirm a strong or clean clump.
WATCH STORAGE AND TRANSPORT
Measure moisture and product condition before and after a filled-bag storage or handling trial. Fine granules and powder can migrate, so retest dust and scoop performance after movement.
CONFIRM THE COMMERCIAL CLAIMS
Fragrance, odor-control direction, disposal instructions and any performance wording should match the final formula, package and destination-market requirements.
