Bentonite litter after transport: what buyers should retest
Granule distribution, dust and clump performance can change after handling, so approval should include a transport-aware check.
WHY A SECOND TEST MATTERS
A mineral litter can look uniform at packing and still change after cartons, pallets and bags have been handled. Movement may shift fine particles through the bag and alter the sample taken from the top or bottom.
RECORD THE STARTING POINT
Before handling, document particle-size distribution, powder content, bulk density, fragrance, moisture and bag condition. Keep a control sample under normal storage conditions.
SIMULATE REALISTIC MOVEMENT
Use an agreed handling or vibration routine with filled retail bags inside their intended cartons. The purpose is consistency and comparison, not an unsupported prediction of every logistics route.
RETEST THE PERFORMANCE
Repeat dust, granule distribution, clumping time, clump weight, lifting strength, scoop residue and bottom adhesion. Compare top, middle and bottom samples when segregation is a concern.
CONNECT RESULTS TO PACKAGING
If the product changes materially after handling, review granule design, powder control, bag fill, headspace, carton support and pallet configuration before final approval.
